Account Manager


ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Account Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of trade and business customers, building strong relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service.

You'll spend time meeting with customers, understanding their business needs, identifying opportunities to support their growth, and ensuring Cairns Hardware remains their supplier of choice.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and creating long-term customer partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, quote and follow through special orders (price or non-stocked goods).
  • Following up with builders to convert quotes to orders
  • Monitoring orders and ensuring delays are communicated to the builders
  • Review invoices to ensure accuracy at all times
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key customer requirements and assist the store in ordering and managing stock at agreed levels
  • Respond to customer enquiries and demonstrate an appropriate level of product knowledge and explain technical information as required
  • Manage existing Trade relationships - building a profile of each key customer and their requirements. 
  • Undertake a visitation program to support Trade customers in order to build relationships and sales
  • Undertake regular product training with market leading brands

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in sales, account management, customer service, or business development.
  • Enjoys building relationships and working with customers.
  • Is self-motivated, organised, and results-focused.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining a sharp attention to detail
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can identify opportunities and develop practical solutions.
  • Works collaboratively and builds positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Holds a current Driver's Licence.

Experience in the plumbing, construction, building supplies, or trade industries highly desirable.
