As an Account Manager (Business Development) at Dahlsens NSW, you can be based in anyone of the following suburbs, Sydney, Strathfield, Ryde, Parramatta and out on the road servicing the Newcastle and Gosford region. This is a strong business development role where you will champion service and drive sales growth by building a network of trade customers, winning new accounts, and deepening existing builder and retail relationships across the territory.

Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will combine field sales, customer acquisition, quoting, ordering and account management to grow the Trade based business. You will work across the whole project offer, embrace new skills, and be part of a high performing sales team delivering quality, on-time products to some of Australia's best home builders. Your leader will provide coaching and development throughout to help you grow in the role.

This is a customer-facing, autonomous role that suits someone with a hunter mindset, a network of builder contacts, and the drive to strategically plan and grow their own territory every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Acting as the central point of contact for sales, providing advice and support to Trade customers across the Newcastle/Gosford region
  • Driving business development through targeted customer acquisition, identifying potential new customers and making warm approaches to win their business
  • Undertaking a structured visitation program to build long-term relationships and grow sales with existing and prospective builders
  • Managing existing Trade relationships – building a profile of each key customer and their requirements
  • Preparing, delivering and following up on quotes, special orders and pricing (including non-stocked goods)
  • Completing orders and ensuring goods are available for collection or delivery within agreed timeframes
  • Negotiating contracts and assisting in the establishment of new trading accounts
  • Updating customer information and contact notes in the CRM to ensure a full history of service is captured on each customer
  • Monitoring and identifying changes in customer requirements, industry trends and new stock opportunities
  • Providing feedback to the Branch Manager and Sales team on customer experiences and areas for improvement
  • Participating in and supporting Marketing activities including promotions, events and brand awareness initiatives
  • Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents promptly via Donesafe
  • Living the 'Our Circle of Care' principles – See, Say, Listen, Stop – and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Current Driver's Licence (mandatory)
  • Experienced in field sales (preferred)
  • Established network of contacts and potential clients across the Newcastle/Gosford region (preferred)
  • Experience selling direct to the builder and/or retail market (preferred)
  • Experience across a broad range of construction products (preferred)
  • Background in Building, Construction, Timber, Hardware or Trades (preferred)
  • CRM experience and confidence with digital sales tools (preferred)
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and strategic account planning skills
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple accounts while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Outgoing and team-oriented, with excellent influencing, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • A self-driven business developer with a proactive, can-do attitude every day
