ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Notting Hill – Victoria (Dahlsens Support Office)

The Analyst provides critical support and information to our Account, Branch and Regional Managers to assist in the creation of accurate building material quotes. Based at our Notting Hill Support Office and reporting to the Trade Hub Manager, you will liaise with branch team members, Support Office colleagues, customers and suppliers to ensure accurate, relevant information is in the right hands at the right time.

You will conduct margin analysis, report on performance trends, analyse sales data to generate actionable insights, and maintain branch and customer pricing files with a high level of accuracy. You will also manage product translations to support customer systems and software, and provide branch support for general and customer enquiries.

You will receive ongoing coaching and mentoring from your manager to support your development in the role and help you grow your analytical and commercial skills.

This is a detail-focused, numbers-driven role for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with data and pricing, and likes collaborating across multiple teams to deliver outstanding service to internal and external customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Maintaining branch and customer pricing files with a high level of accuracy
  • Conducting margin analysis and reporting on performance trends across branches and customers
  • Analysing sales data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights for Account, Branch and Regional Managers
  • Providing branch support for general and customer enquiries, including pricing, quotes and product information
  • Managing product translations to support customer systems and software
  • Conducting market research to identify trends, evaluate market dynamics and understand the competitive landscape in the timber and building materials industry
  • Creating clear, accessible reports and presentations that turn complex data into decisions
  • Developing accurate industry forecasts and identifying potential impacts on the business to support proactive strategy
  • Examining supply chain processes to identify optimisation opportunities and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers
  • Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents promptly via Donesafe
  • Living the 'Our Circle of Care' principles – See, Say, Listen, Stop – and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Retail, Sales or a related discipline (preferred)
  • 2+ years' experience in an analytical, estimating, quoting or similar role (preferred)
  • Experience in the building materials, hardware or construction industry (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under strict timeframes
  • Solid numerical skills and confidence working with pricing, margins and costings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a knack for finding the root cause of issues
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable learning new systems and software
  • High level of care for the work you produce, with a willingness to learn from errors and avoid repeating them
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritise, manage your own workload and deliver to deadlines and end-of-month targets
