Category Assistant Trainee

ABOUT US

Dahlsens Family Group of Companies is a proud, long-standing partner to Australia’s builders, from local trades and serious renovators to large-scale residential and commercial projects. As an Australian family owned and run business, we are committed to supporting the industry and the communities we serve.

We offer a true whole-of-house solution, supporting the build from the ground up - from wall frames and trusses through to doors, hardware, windows, roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, and lifestyle cabinetry. We are here to make building simpler, smarter, and more reliable.

With a legacy dating back to 1877, we continue to evolve, helping builders get the job done right and this is just the beginning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working alongside experienced Category Managers, you'll help support the management of product ranges across our business. You'll learn how to:

  • Maintain product and supplier information
  • Analyse sales and inventory data
  • Assist with pricing, promotions and product range reviews

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence working with numbers and data
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel or a willingness to learn

WHY JOIN CAIRNS HARDWARE?

At Cairns Hardware, we believe in helping our people grow. As part of the Dahlsens Group, you'll be joining a family-owned Australian business with a proud history and a strong future.

You'll be supported by experienced leaders who are committed to your development and will provide on-the-job training, mentoring and career progression opportunities.

Our values guide everything we do:
