At Dahlsens, we prioritise our customers more than anything else. As an Internal Sales Team Member at our Myrtleford branch, you will be the face and voice of Dahlsens, providing outstanding service to our trade customers across the front counter, phone and email. You will play a crucial part in overseeing the sales process from start to finish, ensuring seamless transactions and exceptional customer experiences.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be empowered to always act in the customers' best interests. Building strong relationships will be a core aspect of your role, allowing you to quickly establish a network of connections with our trade customers and the broader Myrtleford branch team.
This is a customer-facing, fast-paced role that suits someone who loves a chat, takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail, and brings a positive, can-do attitude every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Providing front-counter customer service to trade customers and walk-ins, with a friendly, helpful and patient approach
- Handling inbound builder phone calls and emails professionally and following up on each enquiry through to resolution
- Processing customer orders and quotes by phone, email and over the counter
- Preparing accurate quotations based on builders' plans, within set timeframes and in line with all Australian Standards (AS/NZS)
- Following up with builders to convert quotes to orders, and keeping them informed of special-order status
- Receipting and reconciling invoices for accuracy, and resolving any discrepancies promptly
- Conducting stock counts and supporting cycle counts and stock takes to maintain stock integrity and accuracy
- Monitoring stock levels to ensure supply meets customer demand at the Myrtleford branch
- Cross-selling product ranges to builders for a one-stop-shop approach
- Supporting our Account Managers and broader branch team with quote preparation and customer service
- Living the 'Our Circle of Care' principles – See, Say, Listen, Stop – and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Understanding of the building process and/or knowledge of building materials and timber (preferred)
- Previous experience in an administration, sales or customer service role (preferred)
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) (preferred)
- Strong background in delivering exceptional customer service, in person and over the phone
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, particularly with invoicing and stock
- Outstanding problem-solving ability and the initiative to find solutions on the spot
- Proficiency with IT systems, or a quick learner in adapting to new technology
- Enthusiastic and ambitious, with a strong desire to learn and build a long-term career with us
- A team player who is energetic, self-driven and committed to working safely every day
