At Dahlsens, we prioritise our customers more than anything else. As an Internal Sales Team Member at our Ballarat branch, you will be the voice of Dahlsens, providing outstanding service to builders who rely on us for quotes and orders. You will play a crucial part in overseeing the sales process from start to finish, ensuring seamless transactions and exceptional customer experiences.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be empowered to always act in the customers' best interests. Building strong relationships will be a core aspect of your role, allowing you to quickly establish a network of connections with our trade customers and the broader Ballarat branch team.

This is a customer-facing, fast-paced role that suits someone who loves a chat, takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail, and brings a positive, can-do attitude every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Processing customer orders and quotes by phone and email
  • Preparing accurate quotations based on builders' plans, within set timeframes and in line with all Australian Standards (AS/NZS)
  • Following up with builders to convert quotes to orders
  • Monitoring orders and proactively communicating any delays to builders
  • Reviewing invoices for accuracy and resolving any discrepancies
  • Monitoring stock levels to ensure supply meets customer demand
  • Cross-selling product ranges to builders for a one-stop-shop approach
  • Supporting our Account Managers and broader branch team with quote preparation and customer service
  • Negotiating with suppliers to source the best price and maximise sales opportunities and margins
  • Living the 'Our Circle of Care' principles – See, Say, Listen, Stop – and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Understanding of the building process and/or knowledge of building materials and timber (preferred)
  • Previous experience in an administration, sales or customer service role (preferred)
  • Current Forklift Licence (LF) (preferred)
  • Strong background in delivering exceptional customer service
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Outstanding problem-solving ability and the initiative to find solutions
  • Proficiency with IT systems, or a quick learner in adapting to new technology
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious, with a strong desire to learn and build a long-term career with us
  • A team player who is energetic, self-driven and committed to working safely every day
