- Smeaton Grange – New South Wales (Truss & Frame manufacturing plant)
- Full-time afternoon shift, Monday to Friday + attractive hourly rate + shift loadings + super

The Production Supervisor at our Smeaton Grange Truss & Frame plant is responsible for the day-to-day running of our afternoon shift production team, ensuring we deliver quality product, on time, every shift. You will oversee production activities to support our quality, safety and service objectives, managing workflow, resources and team members to keep the plant running efficiently.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will lead and develop a team of skilled production team members, foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and partner with day-shift counterparts to keep our plant moving as one team. You'll also keep a close eye on stock levels for key consumables (nails, plates, braces, steel, glass fittings, etc.) so production never stops for the wrong reasons.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong production smarts, a safety-first mindset and the people skills to get the best out of an afternoon-shift team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Supervising the day-to-day running of the afternoon shift production team to meet output, quality and service targets
- Scheduling team members and managing workflow to hit production timetables and customer delivery commitments
- Leading, coaching and developing the production team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety and continuous improvement
- Maintaining stock levels of key production consumables (nails, plates, braces, steel, glass fittings, etc.) and arranging orders as required
- Maintaining a safe work environment, conducting safety audits and ensuring compliance with WHS/OHS standards and relevant Australian legislation
- Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents promptly via Donesafe and supporting early intervention and risk reduction
- Providing regular reports on production performance and driving improvements in plant and team efficiency
- Partnering with the Branch Manager and day-shift counterparts to align scheduling, hand-overs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting recruitment, training and performance management of team members when required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Branch or Production management experience supervising teams of 10+ team members (preferred)
- Experience in a Truss & Frame, joinery or similar timber/building manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field, e.g. Manufacturing, Production or Operations (preferred)
- Proven track record of delivering production output, quality and operational efficiency targets
- Strong understanding of WHS standards and compliance requirements, including the OHS Act
- Sound experience in inventory management and stock control of production consumables
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced plant environment
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach and develop a team
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across shifts and functions
- Highly organised with attention to detail, and adaptable to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset, with high integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement
