At Dahlsens, our Scheduler plays an integral role in the smooth running of truss and frame manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be the accurate data entry of new orders and ensuring they flow seamlessly through the confirmation and manufacturing process, working closely with the Manufacturing Manager. You will also partner with the Production Branch Manager to review production capabilities and ensure scheduling projections are aligned to plant capacity.
In addition to your scheduling responsibilities, this role extends into branch administration, making it a genuinely varied position. You will assist in overseeing the day-to-day administrative functions of the branch, including managing and refining administrative procedures, supporting financial management tasks such as budget tracking and invoice processing, and coordinating internal communications to ensure staff are well-informed. You will also play a part in maintaining compliance standards, preparing reports, and contributing to a safe and functional workplace.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that sits at the centre of the operation, requiring someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and confident communicating across multiple teams throughout the day.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Maintaining up-to-date production schedules and actioning any revisions in a timely manner
- Scheduling the production of jobs and overseeing the flow of manufacturing operations
- Monitoring timber and hardware supply levels to ensure materials are available without compromising production
- Scheduling deliveries to meet customer expectations and production timetables
- Managing production dates and schedules in accordance with agreed service levels
- Developing and refining procedures and processes to improve output, scheduling efficiency, and manufacturing turnovers
- Maintaining awareness of WHS obligations as they relate to the plant environment
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 3+ years of proven experience in a scheduling role or similar
- Proficiency in scheduling or manufacturing software, such as MiTek, Pryda, or a comparable ERP system
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams simultaneously
- Great customer service skills, including confident phone and email communication
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Building, or a related field would be advantageous
- Experience in the manufacturing or building supplies industry (desirable)
- The ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Solid computer skills across Microsoft Office and relevant plant systems
