The Trade Desk/Sales Team Member is the face of Dahlsens when our builders and trade customers walk into our branch. You will provide expert product advice, manage enquiries, and process quotes and orders via phone, email and in person.

Beyond day-to-day transactions, this role plays a key part in building and maintaining strong relationships with some of Dahlsens’ most valued trade and builder accounts. You will proactively manage customer portfolios, ensuring pricing accuracy, timely follow-up, and consistent service that strengthens loyalty and drives repeat business.

Working closely with Account Manager and the Branch Manager, you will support customer growth strategies, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure every interaction reflects our Yes to Great Service standards. Your ability to understand customer projects, anticipate needs, and deliver commercially sound solutions will directly contribute to branch performance and long-term account retention. 

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Provide customer service to builders and trade specialists
  • Merchandise and replenish products in the store
  • Pick and pack customer orders when required
  • Organise deliveries and ensure customer orders are dispatched in full and on time
  • Administrative duties include, phone, email and other duties directed by the Branch Manager
  • High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff, and site visitors
  • Finally have a ‘hands on’ with a 'can do' attitude

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Forklift licence (preferable)
  • A strong sense of customer service
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion to always give the best service
  • Experience in retail / trade sales, building & construction or qualified tradesman (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent computer and technical skills
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills
