ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Yard Person to join our busy Edmonton store. This is a hands‑on role that plays a critical part in supporting our trade and retail customers, ensuring materials are loaded safely and efficiently, stock is well managed, and the yard operates smoothly each day. You’ll work closely with your teammates, sales, and customer service teams to deliver a positive and efficient customer experience. This role suits someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a team where no two days are the same.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Prior experience with hardware, or within the building industry is essential. The role is well suited to someone with confidence who enjoys working with people. 

  • Provide efficient and friendly service to trade and retail customers in the yard
  • Safely load and unload building materials and stock
  • Operate a forklift and other equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Pick, prepare, and stage customer orders accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
  • Support stock movements, replenishment, and general housekeeping
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet customer and delivery timeframes

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with relative licences and abilities
  • Reliability and the ability to work to schedules and priorities
  • Current Drivers History check Essential
  • Forklift Licence (LF) Essential
  • Finally have a ‘hands on’ with a 'can do' attitude
