ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re on the lookout for a motivated, down-to-earth Yard Person to join our Cooktown team. You’ll be working with heavy building materials and helping local customers get what they need, with friendly service and practical advice.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
If you’ve worked in hardware or the building industry before, you’ll feel right at home. This role suits someone safety minded, and genuinely customer oriented.
- Receive, move, store and load stock safely, following our workplace health and safety practices
- Pick and prepare orders accurately and on time, making sure everything is packed correctly for transport
- Collate and load customer orders ready for delivery or collection
- Keep the yard and work areas clean, organised and safe, in line with WHS guidelines
- Provide consistently high customer service to both internal and external customers
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- A strong focus on safety and duty of care for your team, coworkers and customers
- Good physical fitness and the ability to safely lift and manually handle goods
- Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Confidence operating vehicles and equipment within your licence and capability
- Manual driver’s licence
- Forklift licence (LF) – essential
