ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Yard Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy yard. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting their team, and ensuring our trade and retail customers receive safe, efficient, and friendly service. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will play a key role in yard safety, team leadership, workflow coordination, and customer satisfaction.

 

RESPOSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE 

Prior experience supervising a team in yard, warehouse or trade supply environment is welcomed. The role is well suited to a supportive leader who enjoys collaborating with people.

  • Supervise daily yard operations to ensure safe, efficient, and well-organised workflows.
  • Lead, coach, and support yard team members to achieve high performance and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate loading, unloading, and storage of materials and stock.
  • Support customer service for trade and retail customers, including forklift loading.
  • Work closely with branch leadership to meet operational and commercial targets.
  • Assist with training, onboarding, and performance management of yard staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, safety, and productivity.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with a high level of accuracy.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to lead by example.
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with relative licences and abilities.
  • Forklift Licence (LF) Essential
  • Finally have a ‘hands on’ with a 'can do' attitude.
